Ruger® Security 9® Full Size Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod
Add weight to reduce muzzle flip and decrease follow up shot time of your Security 9® Pistol with our Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod. Also allows use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. These are polished and assembled with Loctite to your needs. Select spring rate and retainer finish, and we'll assemble it as requested. Our Recoil Springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more pleasurable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs.
We offer fully assembled units captured like factory in 15lb, 17lb, 20lb, and 22lb.
Stock spring rate is 17lb.
The Retainer comes in your choice of a Polished Stainless Steel or Black Oxide Billet Steel.

We finally had the chance to mill the Security-9. We test fire with a Burris FastFire III mounted using 115gr PMC Bronze, also installed is out 20lb Stainless Steel Guide Rod and +2 Mag Extension.

I just got a guide rod, and it sticks out the gun slightly, is it supposed to be this way?

I'm looking to get one of the stainless steel guide rods, but not sure which poundage. does the 20 reduce recoil? any suggestions?
Feb 29, 2024, 17:4420 is my general recommendation for helping with recoil and still functioning with full pressure and high pressure ammo.

Best all around spring weight for full size security 9.
Jan 22, 2024, 17:56I would go with a 20lb for best results. It will work very well with most ammo except low pressure sub sonic loads or very low pressure practice ammo.

If I install a 15lb spring will I be able to run subsonic rounds smoothly? I'm considering a 15lb for EDC and a 20lb for hunting.

Is there any way to just purchase the guide rod for the ruger security 9? No spring, justs the guide rod. I would like to buy the two rods, two washers, and two stainless screws .

It is much more balanced and takes less effort to be extremely accurate, it balances back in the perfect position, even rapid firing. With the short stroke trigger, the +2 mag extension, and the 20lb stainless. This gun is a beast. I like it better than my glock 19. Well done my friends!

Dallas AJun 26, 2021, 16:29Works perfectly. I opted for the one above stock, the 20 lb weight for a little less recoil and a little help with those hotter rounds I prefer to shoot. Makes the security 9 feel VERY solid while it's still easy to rack due to the hammer. Fast shipping and great fitment, love my Galloway products. Thanks Galloway!

The gun is a outstanding/dependable firearm, however as a budget offering I noticed the plastic guide rod and although in my first few hundred rounds not a single hickup, I elected to upgrade to the stainless galloway replacement I went with the 15 lb. option as its close to the stock one and will cycle cheap range ammo as well as my EDC ammo.Adds a couple of grams in weight but what a huge improvement for short money*****uograde boyz
