*** Sig has two different slide recoil spring openings, the .280 opening will work with our guide rod assembly, the .220 opening will not. Please make sure you have the larger opening. We believe this has to do with larger opening has the captured guide rod assembly from the factory and the smaller opening has the non-captured unit from the factory. ***
Add weight to reduce muzzle flip and decrease follow up shot time of your Sig SP2022 with our Captured Stainless Steel Guide Rod Assembly. Also allows use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. The flat wound springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more enjoyable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs. These are polished and assembled with Loctite to your needs. Select spring rate and retainer screw color (polished stainless or blacked tool steel) and we'll assemble it as requested.
Select from a Stainless Steel Guide Rod with a Stainless retaining screw or Black Oxide Billet Steel Guide Rod with Black retainer screw.
We offer fully assembled units captured like factory in 15lb, 17lb, 20lb, and 22lb.
Factory spring is 17lb.

Would the 22lb spring be too heavy for a 9mm sp2022?
Apr 15, 2022, 08:48Yes with most 9mm ammo it would not cycle well. It would need very high pressure ammo to cycle in 9mm.

I got the 20lb recoil spring for my Sig SP2022 9mm and doesn’t work. Anyone know which weight rating is the correct one for the 9mm?
Mar 7, 2022, 10:5720lb will work with 9mm full pressure or high pressure. If your having issues with cycle it is probably weak bulk ammo. The stock rate is 18lb for these.

I shoot 357 sig out of my p2022. Which spring would you recommend?

Matthew McDermottJul 12, 2021, 00:26I chose to upgrade the recoil spring along with the trigger in my SP2022. I opted for the 22 lb. spring. I immediately noticed I could shoot much tighter groups at 20 yds. with a variety of different ammo. I also feel much more confident in the reliability and longevity with the steel guide rod vs. the plastic factory one. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade for any Sig SP2022.

My shot groups were much tighter about 1in at 15 yards and on target much faster just running through a mag. I run 9mm 115 grain federal preferred and not once did I have a malfunction, my pistol cycled flawlessly. It was just fun to shoot makes me want to hit the range as much as possible now.
