I have a Gen 4 26 with an aftermarket threaded barrel, and a strike-force quad compensator. The effect of a compensator prevents the slide from fully cycling, such that it has trouble ejecting spent cases and does not cycle far enough back to pick up a new round. I’m still using the standard 16 pound OEM spring set, do you feel 14 Lbs would be enough reduction to function properly?
Feb 12, 2024, 09:33That is extreme for sure. I would recommend as high pressure ammo as you can find. 9x19 doesn't have enough pressure to work a brake but it adds mass out past the slide that will cause lock unlock issues. Bulk practice 115 grain bulk tends to be just inside sami specs for the round so it is pretty low pressure. I would try higher pressure ammo or look for ammo that is the same pressure as the defensive version of the ammo. Going lower on the rate will help a little but ammo pressure is going to help as well.

What weight recoil spring would you suggest for a Glock 26 9MM shooting +P ammunition?
I want to reduce the felt recoilJul 18, 2023, 12:3820lb rate will be the highest we offer and will offer the most rate for help with muzzle flip from recoil.

I have an older model G27 (Gen 3 or maybe even earlier). I'm wanting to reduce recoil by replacing the original plastic guide rod with this metal one. But I don't want to reduce the cycling reliability by purchasing a too-heavy spring. I understand the stock spring is 16 lbs. I've read someone here recommended a 20 lb spring for 40 cal, but other sources suggest I stay with 16 lbs. So, what weight do you suggest I go with to ensure cycling reliability? I understand it's more the weight of the rod as opposed to the spring that makes the difference in recoil.
Apr 17, 2023, 10:25I recommend and use the 20lb, not sure why anyone would say stay at the stock 9mm level when the 40 is a much higher pressure round but the internet is full of experts. The 9mm, 40 and 357sig all get the same spring assembly, the 9mm needs a 16lb for general use and so they all get that rate to stock one spring for multiple models which keep costs down at the factory. If your running lower than standard pressure 40 ammo then yes stay with the stock rate. IF your running full pressure or higher 40 go with the 20 or 18lb rates.

Does this guide rod allow for disassembly? I lost the captive screw on my guide rod. And would prefer tp use the springs that are on my guide rod..
Apr 10, 2023, 15:42They can be disassembled if you would like, they are red loctited at assembly here so heat is needed to break the locking.
