Santiago Short Stroke Trigger Kit for Bodyguard 380 and M&P 380 Pistols

Bodyguard 380 Short Stroke Trigger Kit
The Santiago is now available in Flat Faced or Curved to suit your particular preference.
Introducing our newest iteration of the BG380 Short Stroke Kit. We've replaced the trigger bar with a hardened billet steel hammer that removes the main tolerance issue in the Bodyguard's trigger bar channel not being flat or rough. We've also gone with a new flat faced performance trigger, the Santiago trigger. This all new trigger has the pre travel stop built into the trigger itself and is adjustable for post travel. The kit still includes the decreased rate blocker spring and decreased rate firing pin return spring, as well as the hammer spring spacer. This kit is the culmination of years of experience with the Bodyguard platform and will really bring your Bodyguard to the next level. The Santiago trigger comes in three colors Red, Black, and Silver and the trigger carries the namesake of St. James, The Moor slayer.
- Custom made to our specs this will shorten your pull and reset by 35%.
- Made from high grade alloy steel and fully heat treated for long service life.
- It does not lighten the pull but shortens it, making staying on target easy and follow up shots faster. No factory safeties are affected.
- After the early break the trigger will stop about 1/8 past break when correctly adjusted.
- Includes .050 spacer for the factory hammer spring to increase the impact of firing pin for harder primer bulk ammos, see faq page for ammo info.
***Includes Hammer, Santiago Short Stroke Trigger, Reduced Power Blocker Spring, .050 Hammer Spring Spacer, and Reduced Power Firing Pin Return Spring***
Our spring kits are made to last from actual High Quality Chrome Silicon and not inferior Music Wire like other kits on the market. Made to our specs from ISMI, a leader in spring manufacturing for Formula One as well as the firearm industry.
Post-travel adjustment requires an .050 Allen Wrench. If you are in need of one please add it in the drop down options. We also have a Trigger Install Kit that includes Vibratite, .050 Allen Wrench, and extra set screws available, click here.
We strive to make all parts we manufacture to be drop in, although there is the rare occasion where a part will HAVE to be fitted to the tolerances of your particular pistol. We cannot control the tolerances of mass produced firearms, therefore we highly suggest that if you run into a tolerance issue to contact us at tech@gallowayprecision.com before taking it to a qualified armorer to fit the part. We also offer installation of all triggers, trigger kits, and parts that we make for a nominal fee.
Santiago Trigger is available in Red, Black, or Silver.
Fits Smith & Wesson BG380 and M&P 380 Pistols.
As always, proudly made right here in the USA.
*** A 20% restocking fee will be applied on returned trigger kits that have been installed. Non-installed parts will receive a full refund minus shipping. ***

Does this fit the new Bodyguard 2.0?
Oct 7, 2024, 11:08No it is only for the standard BG380 pistol. The new 2.0 shares no parts with the older version. We have a range of new parts launching soon for it.

If the Santiago Short Trigger Stroke kit for a M & P Bodyguard 380 is purchased, is it better to purchase, and use, the increased rate spring rather than using the spacer (in the kit) and the stock spring?
Jan 23, 2024, 09:33The washer will bring the preload to stock levels for stock like ignition. The heavy rate hammer spring will take it past that and I do not recommend both. If you want better ignition than stock go with the heavy hitter kit for the trigger upgrade and the spring for the best setup for that need.

I want to put a new short stroke trigger kit on my s&w 380 bodyguard. Do I purchase parts from you, send in my gun and let you put them on. or do I need to do it myself. How does this work?
Sep 11, 2023, 10:01Either way, most folks install it themselves via the install video below the listing. We also offer in house work if you would like us to do it. We have an in house work page link at the top of each website page that will take you to that info to review.

So for me being still my primary carry for self defense I Need it to reliably fire. Can this kit be bought with the "Increased Rate Hammer Spring" where I exchange spring with kit for more reliability? I'm mainly looking for shorter trigger pull rather the amount trigger spring pressure to over come the hammer as I imagine the "Increased Rate Hammer Spring" will increase pull weight, but with this kit I would be getting the shorter stroke action correct?
Apr 24, 2023, 09:54I do not recommend mixing and matching no. We offer a heavy hitter kit it comes with the spring and trigger to give the best performance for that setup. The key to these pistols is using quality ammo, low grade bulk practice ammo will struggle in them but is also not a function test. That is only done with quality off the shelf defensive ammo as the pistol will use in application.

James E ShowvakerJan 18, 2023, 01:02This made a huge difference in my Bodyguard. Well worth the cost. I highly recommend the kit. Install was not difficult at all.

James WilsonDec 28, 2022, 14:48I purchased this mainly because of the trigger pull. It seemed like forever before it went bang. The install was very easy thanks to the excellent videos. Thanks for that! It improved the length of pull considerably, sill a heavy trigger, but it's predictable. I'd highly recommend this for anyone owning a BG 380. You won't regret it. It's a quality product. My only caveat is the .050 Allen wrench. I didn't have one anywhere and Ace Hardware didn't either. My suggestion is supply it with the kit and charge a little more. Save people a lot of wasted time trying to find one..thanks though for a great product

T HewittMar 17, 2021, 14:45I've had this trigger installed for 1.5 years now and it has really made my BG380 much more enjoyable to shoot. I no longer feel I'm twisting the gun to get the full travel of the trigger. This is the trigger that should have come from the factory. The installation videos are great too.

J GoetzNov 16, 2020, 01:24I recently installed this on my Bodyguard 380. It wasn’t difficult, just be sure to watch the video below, have the right tools, and take your time!
So, I’ve run about 300 rounds through my gun with this trigger thus far. It has made a significant improvement! I’d guess it reduced the length of trigger travel by about 33%. It functions and feels great too! I conducted some rapid fire drills with speed reloads and it was back on target much faster than with the stock trigger. I’d definitely buy this again. I’ve several friends with Bodyguards as well, and I’m going to recommend they get this little bugger! -
John EricksonAug 10, 2020, 19:08Received my parts today, watched your installation video and thats it.. I had a 1/8 roll pin punch.. for the 1/16 pins I used a number 51 drill bit and no issues knocking out the pins. Also replaced guide rod and heavier spring.. noticed my stock rod was slightly bent. Installed new slide stop spring.. along with new mag catch.. Always had magazine drops with certain mags.. and no it was not my grip.. New mag catch is a lot better design...👍🏻🇺🇸
