Caesar LopezApr 7, 2023, 22:51Worked like a charm. Ive built a few AR-15s and I decided to build my first AR-9. I used a standard AR-15 lower and when I first manually cycled the bolt a few times, I took the upper off and my buffer flew out. The head of the Mil-spec buffer retainer had sheared off. Did some research and found out 9mm bcg are slightly shorter then a standard AR-15 bcg. The bcg wouldn’t push the buffer off the retainer when assembled. This retainer worked great, it allowed the buffer to come forward just enough to contact the bcg when assembled..

AR BuilderMar 13, 2021, 10:04On my first build a 300 BLK pistol went great everything worked good. Then I installed a LAW folder and after that the buffer would hit the buffer pin, reinstalled and made sure it was on as far as it would let me, still hitting. Ordered one of these offset buffer pins and the problem was solved, it allows the buffer to come forward just enough that when the folder is locked into place the BCG extension pushes the buffer back just enough to keep it from causing any damage to the pin and the buffer.

Shaun AndersonMar 10, 2021, 09:45I bought 3 initially from another company until I saw how well they work, Then I ordered 6 more. This is a widespread issue in most home-built AR's and most people are clueless about it. You can just run the rifle without the buffer retainer pin but then taking down the rifle every time is a real pain in the ass. These offset pins are worth every penny.

GunphreekApr 18, 2020, 02:53I'd heard about this item on ar15.com after doing some research as to why my Ruger AR556 was beating the hell out of my buffer. I waited and watched and while I was looking for a new recoil guide rod for my Security9, I found it!!

Kenneth WatersMar 30, 2020, 17:39Was skeptical, especially considering the price, but bought 2 last week. Installed perfect on my two S&W Sport 2s that both have been pounding the hell out of the buffer against the retaining pin. Most likely due to slightly out of spec lower or slightly short Bolt Carrier or combination of both. Problem solved. When closing the receivers you can now clearly see the buffer being pushed off the pin by a good margin. Just bought 2 more for spares as these seemed to have recently been out of stock for a long time. Yeah, okay, not for the poor$. Quality product for the rest of us.
