Stainless Steel Assembled Guide Rod for the MAX-9
Upgrade that factory guide rod to one of our new Stainless Steel single spring units. Introducing the Galloway Precision Stainless Steel Guide Rod assembled with a Single Flat Wound Recoil Spring. We've simplified our unit with less moving parts and more mass for increased reliability. We are offering two spring rate options here; a Factory Spring rate and a 10% Increased rate. These springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more pleasurable shooting experience verses inferior Music Spring Wire springs.
Choose from the Factory Spring rate or 10% Increased. Also, select a Blacked or Polished Stainless retaining screw to suit your preference.
Fits Ruger MAX-9 Pistols.
As always, proudly made right here in the USA.

Will this spring and guide rod fit the Max 9 with the 4 inch barrel?
Jul 25, 2024, 08:48We haven't checked one in house but customers are already reporting it fits normally.

How many rounds can either spring rate take before it needs to be replaced
Oct 19, 2023, 09:04Not something you can assign a number to due to different pressure loads and environmental exposure. We do PM service on LE guns once a year or every 2 years with all springs replaced regardless of round count. I have seen flat wound springs go 500k and a couple barrels before they fail but I've seen some go 20k and be weak. Same weapon platform different uses and environment.

Do you have a spring to make it easy to rack the max 9
May 1, 2023, 08:21Sorry no, going lower on the recoil spring for easier racking is not a good option. I recommend working with a cave man grip to rip rack the slide. Lower rate recoil spring sets are for low pressure ammo cycling.

The guide rod with the increased spring rate. Would the slide be harder to rack?
May 2, 2022, 09:11Yes it is a higher rate so more effort is required to rack it, that is how the recoil control is increased.

Ross AndrewsFeb 26, 2024, 15:33Fantastic upgrade for the money. Very noticeable difference in sight recovery. I added the short trigger as well and the fire, reset, fire is amazing. Helps make a smaller firearm like the MAX-9 more enjoyable to shoot.

Edward StephensJun 30, 2023, 06:14This is a high quality product that works well for me. It's one of the most easy to install upgrades you can put on your firearm. It would be awesome if they come up with a Tungsten version for even more help with muzzle flip.
