Ruger® Security 9® Compact Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod
Add weight to reduce muzzle flip and decrease follow up shot time of your Security 9® Pistol with our Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod. Also allows use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. Our flat wound recoil springs are made of high quality Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, not music wire like some others. These recoil springs are made to last and provide a more enjoyable shooting experience. Made to our specs from ISMI, a leader in spring manufacturing for Formula One as well as the firearm industry. These are polished and assembled with Loctite to your needs. Select spring rate and retainer finish, and we'll assemble it as requested.
We offer fully assembled units captured like factory in -10%, OEM, +10%, and +20% spring rates.
The Retainer comes in your choice of a Polished Stainless Steel or Blacked Stainless Steel.

What is the difference in the guide rod spring rates for the Ruger Security 9 Compact? What does -10%, OEM, +10%, and +20% spring rates mean?
Jan 5, 2024, 10:29OEM is the stock rate it comes with. The others are percentage increases up or down from it. Go up for more control, down if you trying to cycle subsonic loads better.

What are the benefits of the different spring strengths? If I get -10%, will it become more "floppy" or have feeding issues?
Does the +20% "control" gun more?Sep 5, 2023, 10:03Higher rate will help with muzzle flip, lower rate is for ammo that lower pressure than normal to help with cycling.

Will this oem steel guide rod fit the 380 security as well?
