Hellcat Stainless Steel Assembled Guide Rod

*** Will NOT fit the Hellcat PRO ***

Our Hellcat guide rods are made of Stainless Steel and come pre-assembled to your spring rate selection. The recoil springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys, these springs are made to last and provide a more enjoyable shooting experience.

These guide rods are direct drop in units, completely assembled.

Our recoil springs are made to last of actual chrome silica spring wire and not music wire like some other manufacturers.

Choose from the 14lb, 16lb, 18lb, and 20lb spring rates. Stainless Steel units offered with a Blacked Stainless or Polished Stainless Steel Retainer.

Factory spring rate is 15.5lb.

Fits Springfield Armory Hellcat 9mm Pistols. *** Will NOT fit the Hellcat PRO ***

As always, proudly made right here in the USA.US Flag

I hurt my left hand and have a hard time racking my Hellcat 9mm, is there a lighter spring assembly I can use to help me with this problem. Thank you.

Sorry no, the recoil spring rate isn't going to be a good option to change to help with that due to it could lead to damage to the locking block over time and will not reduce the effort much.

What’s a recommended spring rate to upgrade to?

For general improvement with standard and high pressure ammo I suggest stepping up one rate for upgrade over stock recoil control and function.

I'm still very new to fire arms. Just looking to upgrade my original hellcat. Looking at a threaded barrel and a compensator. Would any of these be worth getting. If so which one.

The recoil springs will increase recoil control as you go up in spring pressure. Before adding a comp you should ask the comp maker what they suggest for help with spring rate for cycling and what pressure/load ammo they suggest.

Seeing that the 16ib is as close to stock as possible. How did it handle 115 and 124 in testing. Will it work will with just a threaded barrel?

Same as stock. Bullet weight isn't the big factor, pressure is. 115 grain bulk tends to be just in sami specs for the 9x19 and can be a hassle. The threaded barrel isn't an issue unless you put a suppressor or brake on it to alter the leverage mass pass the slide exit.

I have arthritis in both hands and sometimes can barely rack the slide on my Hellcat so I ordered and installed a recoil spring assembly with the #14 spring hoping that it would make things easier.
While it still takes an effort to rack the slide the lighter spring did make enough of a difference so that doing so is no longer a struggle.
Just came back from testing it at the range and the pistol cycles perfectly.

Ordered the 20# spring to help soak some of the recoil out of Underwood's +P and +P+ offerings in this snappy lil gun.. Runs like a top with even the lowest powered cheap Blazer aluminum 115 gr loads, and definitely helps tame the recoil of Underwood's +p+ 90 gr and 147 gr HC. As with everything else I've ordered from Galloway over the years, the quality/fit/finish is excellent! As an aside (and maybe it's just my perception) but I do believe my groupings tightened up just a bit after installing this as well.
