APX Full Size Stainless Steel Guide Rod Assembly

Add weight to reduce muzzle flip and decrease follow up shot time of your APX pistol with the Galloway Precision Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod. Our assembly converts it to a flat wound recoil spring that allows use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. The flat wound springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more enjoyable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs. These are polished and assembled with Loctite to your needs. Select spring rate and retainer screw color and we'll assemble it as requested.

Choose from Black Oxide Billet Steel or Stainless Steel Retainer with your choice of 15, 18, 20, or 22 pound recoil spring. Stock rate is 18lb.

Fits Beretta™ APX and APX A1 9 and 40 Full Size Pistols Only. *** Will not fit the Compact or Centurion Models. ***

As always, proudly made right here in the USA.US Flag

Looking for a stainless steel guide rod for a beretta apx a1 carry. I like the stainless steel over plastic that comes factory. This is the small 3 inch barrel pistol

The nano guiderod is the same for both.

What do you recommend for the APX 40 cal? Running 165 and 180 grain generally with holosun 508t. Thanks.

I would use the 20lb spring rate.

Brand new apx1. Every spent round of 115 grain is getting hung up. The 124 grain 9mm nato runs great. I want to run 115 grain. Will changing the spring assembly fix my issue? If so what part(part #) do I need to order?

The pistol is meant to run full pressure 9mm, some brands of bulk 115 grain are barely in the pressure minimum for standard pressure in 9x19 Our 15lb is for sub sonic loads generally using a 147gr bullet. The lower rate will help if your bulk 115 is really low. Changing to a different brand of 115 may be needed as some are not in range and will have cycle issues with certain pistols.

Just purchased a full frame APX and my pistol fails to eject the spent round without hanging up. I’ve tried both 115gr and 124gr new ammo and happens without every single round hanging up. I just purchased this handgun a month ago new. Could you tell me what the stock spring weight is and I’m assuming the recoil spring is too heavy so you would go less (17lbs. Stock so 15lbs would help)? Or did Beretta up the standard spring weight for new production?

If your running off the shelf ammo and the issue follows the pistol with other shooters you should reach out to the factory about having them check it as it may have a chamber or extraction issue that should be addressed.

I recently purchased the APX full frame tactical and on my first trip to the range had hangups on almost every round. I had mounted a Holosun 508T and was using 124gr and 115gr new ball ammo and all were a problem. As a side note I mounted my obsidian suppressor and the pistol cycled without issue. Crazy but I don’t know how to explain this or understand which way to go with a spring rate to fix shooting with and without a can any recommendations?

To much mass on it. The suppressor is going to need a booster spring setup in it for sure if it doesn't already come with it for pistol use. The 508t is pretty heavy as well so you have built a lot of weight into the pistol action and past the barrel for sure. Reaching out to the suppressor maker for help will be your best step for help with spring rate suggestions and confirming your suppressor is setup for pistol use and what spring rates they suggest for your barrel length and ammo pressures.

What a difference! After seeing the video of how increasing to 22# would tighten groupings, I gave it a shot. 115gr FMJ's cycle beautifully and recoil is diminished. Groups tightened up immediately. Do yourself a favor and do the striker upgrade as well. APX 9mm is so much fun to shoot now.
