Increased Rate Hammer Spring for Bodyguard 380 and M&P 380 pistols
Increased Rate Hammer Spring
Light strikes can be common in .380 ammo due to various reasons. The BG380 & MP380 can benefit from a heavier rate hammer spring. We have increased the spring rate 20% to give you reliable ignition on working primers. The increase in rate will translate to superior ignition but will increase the trigger pull by about a pound and half.
Our spring kits are made to last from actual Chrome Silicon and not Music Wire like other kits on the market. Made to our specs from ISMI, a leader in spring manufacturing for Formula One as well as the firearm industry.
Fits Smith & Wesson BG380 and M&P 380 Pistols.
As always, proudly made right here in the USA.

Will the added tension of the spring wear out your firing pin more quickly?
Jun 28, 2023, 08:37Not a concern. Firing pins are a consumable just like springs.

Does this work with a MP shield EZ 380? I cant seem to find any ammo that will shoot in this gun.
Jun 6, 2022, 08:26No those are different pistols than the EZ line. We haven't had any reports of issues with them with ignition which I'm guessing is why your looking for a higher rate hammer spring, so I recommend reaching out to the factory

I have already installed the short stroke trigger kit on my bodyguard 380. When I go to install the new increased rate hammer spring, do I leave the spacer in that came with the short stroke trigger kit, or remove it?
Mar 10, 2022, 10:20Remove the spacer and install the new spring by itself, the spacer may create a stack out issue and not allow the hammer to stroke to release.
