Is your replacement spring physically longer than the factory spring?
Sep 23, 2024, 09:00Free length doesn't equate to spring rate. Springs will change in length as they take set. Rate is changed via material rod size, void gap, heat treat and coil count.

I have the new LCP Max 380 pistol. I find it difficult to pull the slide back is there a Recoil Spring available to lessen the tension. Thank you
Jun 20, 2024, 08:04No sorry not something we offer for these. Most of the resistance is in cocking the hammer in these.

Do you continue using the factory inner recoil spring, or does this replace both?
Feb 9, 2024, 09:23It reuses the inner as stated in the listing, this only replaces the outer spring.

Regarding: 13 lb Outer Recoil Spring for Ruger® LCP® MAX Pistols ($10.50)
Does this make racking the slide more difficult or harder?
I have bad wrists and not sure I want to make the slide harder to rack.
Thanks in advance!
For Ruger LCP MAXOct 24, 2022, 12:44It will increase the rate so it will have more resistance to cycling yes.

BillWSep 16, 2024, 15:37I have a new LCP Max 75th Anniversary Edition (stainless slide). Initially, before any upgrades, I put 100 rounds of mixed ammo (FMJRN, FMJFN, Sig Elite 90gr JHP & Underwood 68gr XD) through it and the gun performed flawlessly. Recoil was a bit snappy, as expected, but entirely manageable. I decided to add the Galloway 13lb outer recoil spring and stainless guide rod. Took it to the range and put another 50 rounds (mixed) and the gun again performed without issues. The heavier recoil spring did make a noticeable difference in recoil. Still know I'm shooting a micro lightweight pistol, but double-taps were quicker since muzzle rise is reduced. The stainless guide rod also looks good with the stainless slide. These upgrades are definitely worth considering and make a fine pistol even better.

John CrocianteAug 23, 2024, 17:27The first time I used my new LCP Max 75th I had several instances where the slide wouldn’t go completely into battery. I installed this spring and fired both practice and personal defense ammo without a hiccup. A must buy if you own this little Ruger.

Jon LDec 1, 2023, 09:45Purchased & installed the Sigurd Max Short Trigger, 13lb outer recoil spring, stainless steel guide rod for the LCP Max. Noticeable improvement to trigger take-up and pinch/blister of OEM trigger, upon reassembly. Same immediate difference was noted with the outer recoil spring, when racking the slide. Looking forward to the performance results at the range. ***Must note: the instructional video is indeed too fast and doesn't point out key details of reassembly. Another YouTube install video was needed as a supplement, for myself as a first time gunsmith.

AllenJan 5, 2023, 18:51Works well, and fixed the going back into battery issue I was having while the gun was breaking in. It also seems to have damped down the recoil a bit.

David SAug 7, 2022, 20:36Really nice upgrade coupled with the stainless guide rod! One note though. Somehow I missed the memo that this spring must be used with the stock inner spring! Used alone it is a fail. The bag with the spring did not have any instructionsGalloway PrecisionAug 31, 2022, 09:12Sorry you were confused. The listing title does say Outer Recoil Spring and the description does say "Our Outer Recoil Spring replaces your stock outer recoil spring, which when combined with the stock inner spring gives you a 13lb recoil spring set up."
