I purchased the Max-9 short stroke trigger along with the Galloway basic tool kit (the hockey puck shaped rubber bench block, two punches, and some Allen wrenches). The parts arrived in Monday's mail. I watched the video a few times prior to doing the trigger replacement the next day. The installation went smoothly although I thought the video, while excellent, could have slowed down a bit at times. Just learn to hit the stop button. This was my first foray into modifying a firearm, so I tried to be pretty methodical and slow.
Just as a comment, when I removed the stock trigger, rather than driving the little pin holding the integrated trigger safety all the way out as in the video, I drove it just far enough out to release and slide out the trigger safety (and the tiny trigger safety spring that flies out) so I could then drive out the main trigger pin as shown in the video. In this way, I was able to more easily reassemble and save the stock trigger as an intact assembly just in case I need to send the pistol back to the factory in bone stock condition. Just don't lose the tiny spring! The Galloway trigger fit nicely over the stock pivot pin without any sanding or cursing. One caution. When reassembling the slide lock and its little spring, the transfer bar flew off, releasing the trigger reset spring. With so many small parts, make sure you work where it is easy to see and corral small parts trying to escape you.
The Galloway trigger is a vast upgrade over the stock one. Looks and feels better. I had a problem in that I would often manage to squeeze the stock trigger at an angle (see Mitchell Kornuth's review) in a way that caused the trigger safety to lock up, which is not a great idea for a carry gun. I think this is because the stock trigger sits so far forward in the trigger guard for my reach and I would start drawing back the main trigger before depressing the trigger safety. The Galloway trigger sits farther back in the trigger guard so it fits my hand better. Also, it has far less side to side slop, is ergonomically better, and has a much crisper pull and shorter reset. I took the Max-9 to the range today and put a box of ammo through it. I was really quite pleased with the performance. Definitely recommend this trigger. It is a great upgrade for a small cost, as long as you are not all thumbs doing the installation.

Michael CupkaDec 9, 2023, 18:25Excellent replacement trigger. Just watch the install video closely especially on reassembly of the trigger spring. I was hesitant on buying this firearm because of the bad trigger reviews, but after Galloway’s trigger replacement video,I purchased it from Cabelas for $288 with the 10% off Monday’s in Dec. I also purchased another slide spring and I just installed the grip overlay from here. This firearm went from lower end to upper end in my opinion, very nice trigger break and reset, great gun. I actually carry this everyday day now under my arm in a very nice Velcro wrap from Amazon. Thanks for the fast shipping and excellent products

Mitchell KornuthDec 7, 2023, 22:03Love this new trigger It Is a must have upgrade only thing I'm not a huge fan of is a did have to sand paper my pivot pin and if I ever want to revert the trigger back to stock I would assume it would greatly affect the stock trigger and make it wobbly. I checked rugers website to see if I could order a back up pivot pin and they do not sell them which is a slight disappointment. But overall highly recommend this trigger to anyone, The pretravel and the fact that if i pull the trigger at an angle in a high stress situations it won't lock up like the stock trigger which made me worried. Also amazing shipping speeds I live in California and the trigger was here in 2 days from north carolina that is some high quality shipping speeds from a company. California users the removal of the safety plate is not hard at all follow the instruction video and just remove the plate after you remove the safety blade pin. Getting rid of the mag safety is another big upgrade that makes me feel safer in the event of a self defense situation highly reccomend this product and the 10 percent upgraded guide Rod in unison with this trigger

KapJul 6, 2023, 11:42This was a necessary upgrade for me. I have large hands and fingers and my index finger felt tight and clumsy getting to the trigger properly. It didn't feel natural. The rearward position of the short stroke trigger fixed the issue while improving trigger pull. A win-win for me.
