I've been getting light primer strikes with my Security 380. It went back to Ruger and they've returned it. It's better, but I'm still getting quite a few light strikes. When looking at the pistol, there's almost no tension on the spring when the barrel is in it's "normal" position. Will the +10% spring exert more tension when everything is normal? I'm hoping this will press the round further back towards the breech face.

The higher rate spring will have more holding force at battery yes. I've never seen on that was weak at battery in these though as they are tilting action not blow back. You're having misfires with off the shelf factory loaded ammo across multiple brands?

I have the security 380 with the easy rack. I’m interested in shooting the underwood extreme defender +P. Which rod % would you recommend? Thank you.

The highest rate we offer would be your best option for the very high pressure load range of that sort of ammo. I would reach out to Ruger to confirm the chamber will handle the extreme range of pressure some of the higher end custom defensive ammo runs at.

With factory ammo have there been any cycling issues with the 10 & 20% increased spring rates? Do you suggest sticking with the OE spring rate with factory ammo?

Going up to the 10% with standard pressure or high pressure ammo will work fine. The low pressure loads that just barely make it into pressure minimum range will not cycle well. The 20% increase is for the higher pressure ammo out there.

My 380 fails to feed even with good ammo on occasion, locks back despite rounds still in the magazine and occasionally fails to go into battery, what spring would you recommend

If your having this issue across the spectrum with quality off the shelf ammo regardless of mag used and it continues when you hand it off to other shooters I recommend sending it back for inspection.

I want to put an optic plate on the security 380 with a Holosun 507K. Do I need a -10% or +10% recoil spring? Thanks

I suggest trying it first with quality ammo. The addition of the optic typically doesn't create any issues since we only support the narrow and micro pattern optics that are much lighter than the RMR patterned units that are heavier.

I am not a fan of the stock recoil spring on the Security-380. Once I found this I ordered in the OEM weight as my goal was to replace the stock with a proper metal guide-rod. While I feel the spring may be a hint heavier than OEM, the action itself feels very smooth and cannot wait until I take it to the range!
