Works great! Love my spectrum again... I loved it from the first shoot, then I cleaned it. Could not get the spring comprssed to reassemble. ordered the captured spring from Galloway. Love my Sprectrum again! Thank you Galloway.

My wife has the Taurus spectrum and so far it's been a great little carry piece for her. That being said, I've always had a heck of a time when cleaning that thing due to the factory spring is such a pain to get back into place. I recently ordered the captive spring and man what a game changer! This is how it should have been from the factory. I think it even feels like it shoots smoother too! The captive spring/ guide rod was well worth the price. No longer do I have to listen to the endless stream of foul language from the wife while trying to put her Taurus Spectrum back together. It was enough to make a Teamster blush.

This captive spring/guide rod makes assembling the Spectrum very easy. I have put about 100 rounds thru it using this product and it works great. I love the gun, so I bought another one (terrific sale at Sportsman Warehouse) and ordered another captive spring/guide rod. Comparing the original guide rod and spring with the new captive one, I would say the captive one is just a little harder to rack, but so close it is barely noticeable. If you have a Taurus Spectrum, this product from Galloway is a must have.

Been waiting since Oct. for these to get re - stocked , purchased and received earlier this week , re-assembled my spectrum and went to the range on friday 12-24..put over two hundred rounds thru it and it ran great ! I can't compare it to the original spring because I never got a chance to shoot it since i bent the spring so bad trying to get it back in it just sat in the safe in pieces till the galloway spring came in. All I know is the spring and guide rod worked great .! If you own this gun then you need this spring .

So worth the money and wait.

My SS Spectrum guide rod and spring assembly just arrived, it was with great joy that i removed the Taurus spring and rod from hell and replaced it with the Galloway version. I highly recommend this for your spectrum and want to also praise the great people who work at Galloway. Their manufactured parts are perfect matched only by their great customer service.

I never had any complaints about the spectrum until it was time to reinstall the bloody guide rod and spring ( my wife refused to even attempt cleaning this weapon). Sometimes it would take me 4-5 tries before I could get it back in. This spring assembly makes it a breeze after cleaning the weapon and reassembling it. Even my wife is pleased because she can now clean this weapon herself and not fight that original spring assembly.

Thanks you guys and also the quick response and shipping! Anyone with a spectrum needs to get this spring assembly! It saves time, patients and keeps one from going bloody mad!

I bought a Spectrum a couple of years ago. After a couple of boxes of rounds through it with acceptable accuracy and no failures I stuck it in the safe and forgot it for two problems:
- when the barrel was removed for cleaning the recoil spring could not be replaced without kinking
- my 75 year-old arthritic hands just could not work the slide

I recently bought and installed the Galloway Precision Guide Rod and Spring and the Rack Assist Back Plate. What a difference! The Guide Rod practically falls into place. And the Rack Assist makes slide racking extremely easy. I am now willing to do the serious testing to put the Spectrum in my EDC rotation It could become my go to choice for pocket holster carry.
