TX22 Compact Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod
Our Taurus TX22 Compact Guide Rods are made of Stainless Steel and come pre-assembled to your spring rate selection. Our guide rod units allow use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. The recoil springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more pleasurable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs.
Our recoil springs are made to last of actual chrome silicon spring wire and not inferior music spring wire like some other manufacturers.
We offer fully assembled units captured like factory in factory spring rate, 10% increased, or 10% decreased. The 10% decreased spring rate helps cycle better for lower pressure loads.
Comes with your choice of Polished Stainless or Black Cerakote Retainer.

Does it fit Gen 2? I just bought one from the store. While researching, I found out there’s a Gen 1 and Gen 2 for this model. I believe I got Gen 2, since the box says 07/24/2025
Sep 5, 2025, 08:32This is a compact pistol version part. If your pistol is not a compact model, it will have TX22c on it, then it will not fit the pistol. If you have a full size you will need the toro model rod we offer that has the flat machined on the rear of the rod for mounting on the barrel lug, the compact does not have that nor does the full size gen 2 versions.

What spring rate would you recommend that would provide a more consistent/reliable cycling of the gun? I generally shoot 40 grain .22 ammo.
Sep 4, 2025, 13:24What issue are you having now? Failure to eject or feed? Do you have an optic mounted or suppressor in use?

With a compensator should I use the increase or decreased spring
Jun 23, 2025, 08:34Higher pressure ammo will be needed for the added mass of the comp so stock or higher rate will be needed for the return spring.

I have a TX22 Compact that cycles and loads the round. But the slide hangs up just a little and I get light primer strikes. Would one of these spring help push the slide all the way forward?
May 5, 2025, 08:39Have you tried other ammo types? Does it do this with other shooters?

I bought a sparrow22 suppressor for my tx22 gen2. It runs decent, but about every 6th-7th shot it will jam, bending the bullet. Without the suppressor, it runs flawless. Would I need increased, or decreased to help with this?
Apr 9, 2025, 08:33I would reach out to the suppressor maker for suggestion as it comes down the type of ammo being used as well. Suppressors require sub sonic ammo to be hearing safe, which typically has a longer bullet and shorter case in 22lr but super sonic can be longer cased with shorter bullets, both will load different due to the different pressure cycling the slide and the bullet type/shape. Throw in a suppressor and it gets even more mixed up. I suggest going lower with sub sonic loads due to the reduced pressure but the suppressor maker will have good info to share.

Byron BensonJul 30, 2025, 00:27I was having constant failure to return to battery causing light primer strikes after about 500 rounds with my TX22 compact. This recoil spring assembly fixed the issue 100%. Put 300 rounds suppressed though it without a single issue. Phenomenal product.
