I just purchased the CA complaint trigger without safety flap for my CA complaint Max 9. Do you have an instillation video for this?
Apr 10, 2025, 08:00Same install as the regular trigger. Just swap in the included pivot in at reassembly.

Will this fit on a California Max 9 that has the magazine disconnect already removed?
Nov 15, 2024, 17:35Yes, it will work with a standard max 9 or a CA model that has the mag disconnect plate removed.

Will these triggers effect the drop safety at all? Has it been tested?
Oct 9, 2024, 09:03The blocker is not engaged by the new trigger setup in any way. That still has to be done by moving the trigger back on the first shot.

Do you have specific numbers for the trigger pull weight?
Sep 24, 2024, 08:54It is a trigger, triggers do not alter pull weight. They change staging and create travel limits as well as change the leverage point. Altering the pull weight is done via the springs and fire control components. Pull weight isn't something we give as it varies depending on setup.

I have a standard Ruger Max-9 (not California compliant). Do you have a trigger without the safety lever on it (like the Ca compliant trigger) available for my non Ca compliant pistol?
Sep 3, 2024, 09:04Sorry we have not released our no blade version of the standard model Max9.

Khal SpencerApr 17, 2025, 00:47I purchased the Max-9 short stroke trigger along with the Galloway basic tool kit (the hockey puck shaped rubber bench block, two punches, and some Allen wrenches). The parts arrived in Monday's mail. I watched the video a few times prior to doing the trigger replacement the next day. The installation went smoothly although I thought the video, while excellent, could have slowed down a bit at times. Just learn to hit the stop button. This was my first foray into modifying a firearm, so I tried to be pretty methodical and slow.
Just as a comment, when I removed the stock trigger, rather than driving the little pin holding the integrated trigger safety all the way out as in the video, I drove it just far enough out to release and slide out the trigger safety (and the tiny trigger safety spring that flies out) so I could then drive out the main trigger pin as shown in the video. In this way, I was able to more easily reassemble and save the stock trigger as an intact assembly just in case I need to send the pistol back to the factory in bone stock condition. Just don't lose the tiny spring! The Galloway trigger fit nicely over the stock pivot pin without any sanding or cursing. One caution. When reassembling the slide lock and its little spring, the transfer bar flew off, releasing the trigger reset spring. With so many small parts, make sure you work where it is easy to see and corral small parts trying to escape you.
The Galloway trigger is a vast upgrade over the stock one. Looks and feels better. I had a problem in that I would often manage to squeeze the stock trigger at an angle (see Mitchell Kornuth's review) in a way that caused the trigger safety to lock up, which is not a great idea for a carry gun. I think this is because the stock trigger sits so far forward in the trigger guard for my reach and I would start drawing back the main trigger before depressing the trigger safety. The Galloway trigger sits farther back in the trigger guard so it fits my hand better. Also, it has far less side to side slop, is ergonomically better, and has a much crisper pull and shorter reset. I took the Max-9 to the range today and put a box of ammo through it. I was really quite pleased with the performance. Definitely recommend this trigger. It is a great upgrade for a small cost, as long as you are not all thumbs doing the installation. -
John EllisJun 7, 2024, 02:25Finally got to the range with my Cali version trigger for my Max-9. Great improvement over factory trigger and no more "trigger bite".
New pivot pin made installation a breeze. -
Ross AndrewsFeb 26, 2024, 16:22Great upgrade, ergonomicly fits better than the original trigger. Very smooth. Excellent upgrade.

Michael CupkaDec 9, 2023, 18:25Excellent replacement trigger. Just watch the install video closely especially on reassembly of the trigger spring. I was hesitant on buying this firearm because of the bad trigger reviews, but after Galloway’s trigger replacement video,I purchased it from Cabelas for $288 with the 10% off Monday’s in Dec. I also purchased another slide spring and I just installed the grip overlay from here. This firearm went from lower end to upper end in my opinion, very nice trigger break and reset, great gun. I actually carry this everyday day now under my arm in a very nice Velcro wrap from Amazon. Thanks for the fast shipping and excellent products
