Hellcat Micro-Compact Stainless Steel Assembled Guide Rod
*** Will NOT fit the Hellcat PRO ***
Our Hellcat guide rods are made of Stainless Steel and come pre-assembled to your spring rate selection. The recoil springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys, these springs are made to last and provide a more enjoyable shooting experience.
These guide rods are direct drop in units, completely assembled.
Our recoil springs are made to last of actual chrome silica spring wire and not music wire like some other manufacturers.
Choose from the 14lb, 16lb, 18lb, and 20lb spring rates. Stainless Steel units offered with a Blacked Stainless or Polished Stainless Steel Retainer.
Factory spring rate is 15.5lb.
Fits Springfield Armory Hellcat Micro Compact 9mm Pistols. *** Will NOT fit the Hellcat PRO ***
As always, proudly made right here in the USA.

Newb here, so a heavier spring will help the recoil more is that what I’m understanding? Stock is 15.5 so the 20 will be harder to rack but help recoil in theory is that correct?
Dec 26, 2024, 09:48Yes, it will need full pressure or high pressure ammo at 20lbs, weak low pressure reloaded practice ammo in bulk may have cycle issues.

Hey I have a concealed carry hellcat osp. Really snappy. I run 115 grain Winchester fmj at range and critical defense I believe 135 or 147 grain. What spring will be the best for me and less muzzle raising
Dec 23, 2024, 13:54For more control of muzzle rise going up in rate is needed. I would step up one rate over stock.

My Hellcat has a very stiff recoil spring and it is hard to pull the slide back. I watched your video on the Hellcat Performance Spring Kit (which is a different set of springs that doesn't include the recoil spring), and as Eric was manipulating the slide back and forth, it looked to be a more reasonable stiffness. Which spring were you using in that video? Where can I get one? Thanks.
Nov 12, 2024, 08:59That would be an 18 in the pistol in the video so it is a higher rate spring set than stock.

Hi, I shoot some plus p and just standard 115, 124 and 147 should I just stick with the 16lb spring? Any Info . ThankYou!
Oct 24, 2024, 08:09For general range of ammo like that the 16 will be the best option.

Could you possibly reccommend a spring weight?
I have a Hellcat RDP and typically use 124 grain S&B. May defensive ammo is either 124 Federal HST (sometimes 124 Punch) or 115 Hornady Critical Defense.Sep 17, 2024, 07:42I would go with the 18lb, the 20 will probably work well with the defensive ammo but the bulk practice ammo may not have enough pressure to cycle fully.

Fernando AOct 17, 2024, 20:47I put this guide rod in for my Hellcat, and after shooting with the stock rod for 3 years, I felt the difference immediately with the energy of the recoil being directed straight back controlling the muzzle flip enough to make a difference.
It is a nice little easy upgrade to make and the difference will be felt. -
James CarpenterMay 5, 2023, 18:43I have arthritis in both hands and sometimes can barely rack the slide on my Hellcat so I ordered and installed a recoil spring assembly with the #14 spring hoping that it would make things easier.
While it still takes an effort to rack the slide the lighter spring did make enough of a difference so that doing so is no longer a struggle.
Just came back from testing it at the range and the pistol cycles perfectly.

RyanJan 21, 2023, 11:40Ordered the 20# spring to help soak some of the recoil out of Underwood's +P and +P+ offerings in this snappy lil gun.. Runs like a top with even the lowest powered cheap Blazer aluminum 115 gr loads, and definitely helps tame the recoil of Underwood's +p+ 90 gr and 147 gr HC. As with everything else I've ordered from Galloway over the years, the quality/fit/finish is excellent! As an aside (and maybe it's just my perception) but I do believe my groupings tightened up just a bit after installing this as well.
