APX Competition / Carry Pack
We've taken all of our most popular weight springs, our tried and true stainless steel guide rod, and we've made the ultimate carry/competition package. 18lb, 20lb, and 22lb, springs let you change how the pistol handles by slowing the recoil impulse and making the pistol much more comfortable to shoot reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise.
Pack includes; 18lb, 20lb, and 22lb Recoil Springs, Stainless Steel Guide Rod, Washer, and your choice of Black or Stainless Retainer.
Our assembly converts it to a flat wound recoil spring that allows use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. The flat wound springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys, these springs are made to last and provide a more enjoyable shooting experience.
Choose from Black Oxide Billet Steel or Stainless Steel Retainer.
Fits Beretta™ APX 9 and 40 Full Size Pistols.
Use Blue Locktite or Vibra-Tite VC-3 on the Retainer Screw when assembling your RSA.
*** Note: The 22lb rate may NOT lock open the slide on low pressure ammunition. Make sure that you are using FULL pressure loads with the 22lb spring rate. ***
As always, proudly made right here in the USA.
Beretta APX Guide Rod Test
We shoot the different weight guide rod springs and show the difference in recoil. Stock guide rod is 17lbs, then we test our Galloway Precision Stainless Steel Guide rods in 20lb and 22lb spring rates.

I have a brand new Beretta APX A1 Tactical Fullsize pistol, I installed a OEM Beretta Compensator from Beretta. I took it to the Range 2 days later and tried various 115 gr and 124 gr ammo. The round would fire the round every time - but also every time, the slide would either not eject the casing at all where the casing would stay in the chamber, or with some ammo, it would stovepipe the casing. I thought I needed a lighter recoil spring to correct this issue, but this kit only has heavier springs... am I wrong? Do I need a heavier spring or a lighter spring?
Apr 12, 2024, 12:46You need more pressure in the ammo to overcome the extra mass past the end of the barrel. Going lighter on the recoil spring might help but the system is meant for high pressure ammo not standard pressure or bulk practice ammo that is generally just inside the same minimum spec.

Will the different weight springs be marked for identification in the kit? Also thanks for making this product! Love my APX but do not love the mediocre accuracy compared to my other pistols.
Apr 20, 2021, 09:58We ship them bagged individually for reference. Glad you like the products, we are customer driven so it is you all that contact us with needs and we see if we can meet them.
