Our Taurus guide rods are made of Stainless Steel and come pre-assembled to your spring rate selection. The recoil springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more pleasurable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs.
We offer fully assembled units captured like factory in 16lb and 18lb spring rates, with a Polished Stainless retainer.
Factory spring rate is 16lb.
Fits Taurus G3c, G3X, G2c, G2s, Millennium G2, PT111 G2, and PT111 G2c 9mm Pistols only.

Besides looks, what's the advantage of replacing the factory recoil assembly on a G3X with one of yours at the same factory pounds (16)? Is there a difference in material or something?
Jan 8, 2024, 10:38Stainless material, it is able to be rebuilt, and you can select a higher rate than stock for more recoil control with full pressure or high pressure ammo.

The factory spring rate is 16lbs.Would the 18lb spring reduce recoil, and still run reliably?
Jan 2, 2024, 11:17With standard pressure and high pressure it will run fine. Low grade bulk ammo that is just inside the minimum standard pressure range may not.

With the 18lb spring I can feel that it takes a little more effort to rack the slide, but the recoil is a little less. The old 16# recoil wasn't too bad for me before and the new 18-pounder is just marginally less.

I've had at least 3 pistols (2 Taurus, 1 Ruger) that have come with plastic guide-rods from the factory, and I've replaced them all with stainless assemblies like this one. Two were from Galloway Precision, and I can't say enough good about them. I have a grey frame / stainless slide PT111 that this spring assembly went it, and the polished end-cap of the GP model looks amazing against the matte finish of the slide. I took the barrel out and hand-polished the muzzle-end to match, so it gives this nice little budget 9mm a custom look! Try one, you won't be disappointed.

Jerome LuckeyNov 9, 2019, 17:27I bought my Taurus PT 111-G2 in Feb. 2018. I hated it. It had way too much recoil with the 16lb OE recoil spring. I spent about 3 months shooting mostly with a 22 sa revolver to get rid of most of the bad flinch I developed after shooting only 20 rounds through it. After another month of frustration I saw a youtube video about the Galloway stainless replacement guide rod in 18 and 16lb. Since I was frustrated with the OE 16lb I called Galloway and went with the 18lb. It made a huge difference in recoil. I went from body blows to light shoves. Made a huge difference in how I felt about the Taurus. It is fun to shoot now and I fired over 200 rounds with the 18lb recoil spring and never had a miss fire.
