FAQ
Common questions and their answers related to some of Galloway Precision Products Inc. products as well as answers for common pistol problems related to certain brands.
General questions:
We, like the pistol manufacturers, do not suggest use of Sellier Bellot, Fiocchi, Herters, Aguilla or any steel cased ammo. ALSO no hand loads should be used as per all the firearm manufacturers. Use in 380 acp pistols will create light strike issues and we do not acknowledge that as a problem with these ammo brands, you will be told to change ammo. We recommend PMC bronze, HPR, Mag Tech or Blazer brass for 380 acp applications. For defensive ammo we recommend Speer Gold Dot and Federal HST.
-Who makes your springs?
All our springs are made in the US by one of three suppliers, they are all made for us to our specs and are made under no contest agreements.
-Where are your products made?
Every product we sell is Made in the USA.
Trigger questions:
What size allen key is required to adjust the post and pre-travel of my Galloway Precision or RTK trigger?
All of the triggers we sell require a .050 SAE Allen Key for adjusting post and pre-travel. We do offer a Trigger Install Kit that comes with the necessary allen key, extra set screws, and Vibra-Tite.
Ruger questions:
SR questions:
-Guide rod spring rates?
The compacts both come stock with 16lb, we recommend the 14lb only for light handloads only, 18lb is the high in for 9mm and 20lb for the 40.
The full size pistols both now ship with 18lb, we recommend the 20lb for the 9mm and 22lb for the 40 models, the 15lb spring is for light hand loads only
-Trigger not resetting after ghost bar installed.
Check that everything is assembled correctly. If the rocket was used be sure the overtravel tab is fit correctly. If correct or using the Ultimate trigger bar, bend the reset bar in towards the fire control housing slightly. If this does not fix the issue contact Ghost triggers at 305-252-7422
LC9 questions:
Be aware on older 320 and 321 prefixes we are seeing the trigger cross pin (2 on parts diagram) is undersized and or worn and will need to be replaced to correct erratic disconnect issues. This part is available directly from Ruger via shopruger.com

-What does the trigger system upgrade do?
Be sure to read the description, the short answer is it shortens the throw by half, causing the trigger to break at the stock half way point on travel, lightens the pull about a pound, and still maintains all the safeties.
-I have the trigger system upgrade and I'm getting light strikes?
If you have a SN that starts with 320 or a SN under 321-60000 you need the current firing pin return spring, the older units have a 25mm long spring and the new units use a 20mm spring. This will fix 99.9% of light strike issues.
-Is modifing customer supplied parts the same as the kit?
Yes same result
-Does this void my factory warranty?
Since Ruger does not offer a written warranty we can't say yes or no.
-Does the RTK work with the stock trigger system?
No it requires our trigger modification to the system
-Does the 20lb recoil spring set work with bulk standard ammo?
Yes, it will work fine with standard pressure or higher ammo, cycle issues may appear with low pressure/low recoil ammo or loose grips.
