Ruger® Security 9® Optic Mounting Plate
We present to you the Optic Mount Plate for the Security 9® series of pistols. Made from aircraft grade aluminum and then hard anodized to mil spec for longevity and scratch resistance, this is the optic mount that you need to bring your Security 9 to the next level. This no gunsmithing required mounting plate is designed to replace your rear sight, no milling of the slide required.

I find it that the plate on the security 9 wobbles left to right when it’s sitting in place. When I place the big center screw to hold the plate in place where it’s supposed to be, the screw just sinks in by dropping it in there and wobbles in place and doesn’t tighten to keep the mounting plate secured where it’s supposed to be. Is there a reason for this? The optic itself completely latches onto the plate just fine and is secured, but I cant get the plate itself to stablize on the actual gun. (The optic is not the problem, but the mounting plate itself)
Apr 1, 2024, 09:39The plate reuses the stock screw, it tightens down with blue loctite like stock and will secure the plate. If the dovetail is over size you may have some movement. Staking the plate for interference is an option to create complete interference with the plate to dovetail.

This plate should work with the Cat X Pro right? It says RSMc and 407/507 footprint. But I thought to ask to be sure since I already &&&&ed up and got a dot that doesn't fit. (my fault)
Jan 23, 2024, 09:47Yes it will work in the same setup as the regular RMSC spot of the rear set of holes and will not use the location studs.

Is this plate an rmr foot print?

I know that Holosun 407K and Holosun 507K are listed as compatible. But there are a number of variants I am not sure about. For example: HOLOSUN HE507K-GR X2, HS507K X2, HE407K-GR-X2, etc.

Brad IMar 30, 2021, 13:44Like everyone else, this optic mounting plate fit perfectly on my Security 9 Compact. I purchased a $75 ADE optic on Amazon, and it fit perfectly as well. I'm a retiree on a limited budget so I buy most things as inexpensively as I can. This worked out well for me. I was a little concerned because the Hi Viz LIGHTWAVE sights I purchased first did not fit at all. When this mount fit right on my Ruger I was relieved. Now I don't have to think about spending $400-500 for an MOS pistol. Money I don't have anyway.
