TX22 Competition Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod

Our Taurus TX22 Competition guide rods are made of Stainless Steel and come pre-assembled to your spring rate selection. Our guide rod assemblies allow the use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. The Flat Wound Recoil Springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more enjoyable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs.

We offer fully assembled units captured like factory in 11lb, 13lb (factory spring rate), or 15lb spring rates. The 11lb reduced spring rate helps cycle better for lower pressure loads.

Comes with your choice of Polished Stainless or Blacked Stainless Retainer.

If pairing with a force reset trigger, would a heavier spring be best?

The higher/heavier recoil spring is going to be for higher pressure ammo. The trigger just fires the weapon, in the forced reset setup it fires it much faster than normal. If the ammo is full pressure or high pressure it will help prevent battering at the end of the stroke and may prevent harmonics from starting in the grip.

Do these springs have a similar coil bind length to the OEM springs? My understanding is that this is a critical dimension to prevent battering of the frame forward of the locking block by the slide assembly.

It is correct yes, we have the springs made in the USA by ISMI and all the function is correct or we would not offer it.

If anyone is curious about my questions or is having similar issues, the lighter recoil spring solved all of my issues! Thank you

Is the oem spring the best for subsonic and standard ammo with a suppressor?since I usually shoot a combination of both depending what’s on sale. Just found out i shouldn’t use hyper velocity with a suppressor on the tx22

If you having cycling issues with the low pressure or sub sonic rounds then you should go down in the rate better results, we offer a reduced rate.

I had installed the 20% stronger striker spring to eliminate duds and it worked great, but I noticed the slide didn't close with as much force as it had before. I just installed the stronger recoil spring to overcome the stronger striker spring and it works like a champ, with slightly better velocity and accuracy and can benchrest sub-1" groups at 25 yards.

Thank you Galloway Precision. Taurus has not had many of their replacement parts for months and my guide rod and spring assembly broke before the Christmas holidays in December. Your replacement spring and rod assembly has a noticeably stronger cycling action with just the OEM spring rating. I just ordered my second assembly so as to have a spare. I run several hundred rounds a week with my TX 22 Comp and S&W PC Victory 22.
