Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod

Add weight to reduce muzzle flip and decrease follow up shot time of your SR9®, SR40®, and SR9E® series with our Assembled Stainless Steel Guide Rod. Also allows use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. The flat wound springs are made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more enjoyable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs. These are polished and assembled with Loctite to your needs. Pick spring rate and retainer screw color (polished stainless or blacked tool steel) and we'll assemble it as requested.

We offer fully assembled units captured like factory in 15lb, 18lb, 20lb, and 22lb.

-SR9 factory spring is 18lb.
-SR40 factory spring was 22lb up to December 2010, Dec 2010.

The full size pistols both now ship with 18lb, we recommend the 20lb for the 9mm and 22lb for the 40 models, the 15lb spring is for light hand loads only.

Stainless Steel Guide Rod available with a Stainless or Black retainer screw.

Fits Ruger® SR9®, SR40® and SR9E® series pistols.

Will NOT fit SR9C® or SR40C® Pistols

I have a Ruger SR9 and run 115 grain ammo. What guide rod spring rate do you recommend?

Bullet weight isn't the big factor, pressure is. If your planning to run a lot of 115 gr bulk ammo which tends to be lower pressure just inside standard pressure range then I would go with the stock rate of 18 or 20. The 20 may not run all of the bulk practice ammo if the pressure is to low but you can swap in the stock spring assembly to run the low pressure stuff.

The 20 or 22 will be good for the 40, if your running standard pressure ammo or higher pressure I would go with the 22lb unit.

I have a 2019 ruger sr40,it has fail to feed almost every mag, what recoil spring should it have in it and what do you recommend?

I would return it to the factory if you have an issue like that with different ammo brands. That doesn't sound like a spring issue, it is either ammo, grip, or feed (mag/barrel) issues.

Ordered this 18LB stainless steel rod a while back and I'm very pleased with the results. Smooth as could be and does what it was designed for. Better than the stock guide rod on my SR9.

I bought the stainless #20 guide rod for my sr40c, just not a fan of polymer guide rods. it does what it is supposed to do and does it well. I am about to order the trigger reset and smooth it kit. Galloway makes good parts and if you ask questions they get answered.
