Performance Spring Kit for Ruger LCP II 22lr Lite Rack Pistols
Performance Spring Kit for the LCP II 22lr Pistols
Introducing our newest Performance Spring Kit for the LCP II 22lr series of pistols. The concept behind the Lite Rack is fantastic, a small trainer for some and a high capacity semi automatic for those that want something small and lightweight for carry. However some of these little guys have issues with the 22lr round, so we came up with our spring kit to fix some of those issues. Included in the kit is a 10% increased rate hammer spring, to help hit that rimfire round harder. A 10% reduced power firing pin spring for stronger strikes from the increased rate hammer spring. Finally rounding out the kit, a 10% increased rate extractor spring to help those pistols with extraction issues. All of this is done without increasing the pull weight of the trigger, and is compatible with our Sigurd Short Stroke Trigger for the LCP II series of pistols. So become one with your gun and get yours today!
Our spring kits are made to last from actual High Quality Chrome Silicon and not inferior Music Wire like other kits on the market. Made to our specs from ISMI, a leader in spring manufacturing for Formula One as well as the firearm industry.
Fits Ruger™ LCP II 22lr / LCP II 22lr Lite Rack Series of Pistols Only.
As always, proudly made right here in the USA.

I have been seeing a lot of folks are having issues with manually extracting unfired rounds with the magazine in (say after a tap/rack). Will the extractor spring upgrade fix/alleviate that issue?
May 9, 2025, 08:24It is a higher rate spring to help increase pressure to aid in extraction which will help. If the chamber is tight or the extractor is damaged you may still have issue though depending on how extreme the cause is.

I ordered the spring kit for my ruger lcp 2 . of the 3 springs included I'm considering just installing the firing pin spring and the extractor spring - not the hammer spring. Is this ok to do or should I also install the hammer spring for proper operation.
Mar 4, 2025, 19:27Installing all the springs will give the best results but it will help with ignition and extraction. The most impact on the primer will require the hammer spring swap though.

Is the 22 caliber LCP II any more difficult to install a spring kit as compared to the LCP Max. I bought the 22 to use as a cheap trainer, for the Max. It’s been back to Ruger twice, and it’s better, but FAR from 100%. I KNOW that every gun has its preferences to ammunition, but even though the idea was for cheap practice, I can’t even get it to run with Eley. I’m not going to waste my money trying SK or Lapua. I’m saving those for precision shooting
Apr 12, 2024, 09:30Similar to the LCP2 center fire, couple small differences. It will generally help folks run more reliable with a wider range of ammo.

Are all the Ruger springs blue and the Galloway springs are all black?
Jan 29, 2024, 10:18No, some are green and yellow, just depends on the model and production date, all of our springs are gray or black.

John S.Jul 3, 2025, 21:49Long review, crappy gun, good kit to fix it.
Just buy this!
It'll fix this crappy designed Ruger and at least make it a good range gun (read to the bottom).
Bought a brand new Lite Rack for my daughter. Right out of the box it was terrible. High velocity rounds, standard rounds, "self defense" rounds, lead, plated, nickel or brass case, issues with them all, a good dozen different brands, types, grains, bullet types.
Stove pipes, failure to feed and the most common, failure to extract.
Probably only two or three rounds before a malfunction, clear it and maybe get one round before another.
I honestly don't think we got through one whole mag without at least one issue.
Figuring it needed "broken in", we struggled with this junky thing for more than a couple hours and a few hundred rounds.
Disgusted but not willing to have Ruger claim it was fine, like they did for the janky SR22 pistol I had sent back to them, three times, I decided to try this spring kit.
Installed this kit after good success with the LCP .380 springs.
As others have said, installation can be a pain, if you have issues, step away for a bit, this goes for anything that gets frustrating btw.
Use a laptop with a large screen so you can pause whatever video you decide to use.
At the range, ZERO issues with every high velocity ammo I tried, 100 rounds of Stinger, 100 of Viper and 100 Mini-Mag, zero issues.
The only issue was with the lower velocity (1070 listed FPS) so called self defense round, Federal Punch.
I think the lower weight bullet and the lower velocity just isn't a good fit with a blowback .22 like this.
Now, Galloway needs to make an improved magazine spring, having the follower collapse multiple times caused me to go buy her a Smith 351C.
Ruger seriously put an oversized click pen spring in their mags?
Three mags, all brand new, each one gave me issues.
What engineer thought this was a good idea?
Each issue the spring came out of the mag body looped over itself...
I did "polish" the follower, mainly where Ruger left mold marks, using Meguiar's PlastX polish and a small buffing wheel on slow speed in my Dremel I think I got them working half decent now. -
Alex S.Mar 25, 2024, 14:05This upgrade should be a requisite for all LCP 2 22LR models. Prior to the swap I had multiple failure to feed and failure to eject issues using good ammo (CCI). After the upgrade the pistol ran FLAWLESSLY, again with good ammo. I also deliberately ran in through bad ammo, and again there were problems but not with the good stuff. 300 rounds of CCI Mini Mag 40gr and not a single failure. This upgrade is not for the faint of heart however; the FCU is a MAJOR pain to remove and reseat in this model, and removing the factory hammer spring tested my sanity. Consider either sending your pistol to Galloway for the upgrade, or have a local gunsmith perform it.

Glen G.Apr 10, 2023, 18:021st outing with new LCPII .22 was frustrating with multiple fail to fires that appeared to be light strikes. As a former high level .22 Bullseye competitor I wrongly assumed all .22's ran as flawlessly as my competition guns. (I don't EVER remember a FTF during slow or rapid fire with my competition High Standard pistol and Eley match ammo over tens of thousands of rounds!) Anyway, imagine my disappointment with my new pocket pistol. A little online searching showed it's a "thing" with the LCP. Enter Galloway Precision. Turns out they're neighbors so I grabbed their LCPII .22 spring kit and put their install youtube video on slowmo/repeat next to my workbench. Done! Test fired a couple hundred rounds. ZERO malfunctions of ANY kind. ZERO! Ya'll have made a pistol I almost regretted buying into my trusted new favorite gun. Thanks neighbor!

DavidFeb 6, 2023, 10:33Great upgrade for the LCP II, now 100% with everything I tried in it.
CCI Mini-Mag, CCI segmented, CCI stingers, CCI standard velocity, Aguila HP, and CCI tactical. More than worth the price and install is not that hard. -
Walt WhiteOct 14, 2022, 14:36Extremely helpful video. I ran it at about 75% speed which helped my old eyes see and comprehend better. There were a few views where the assembly was below the camera, and I had to guess what was going on. Otherwise, a very informative video with helpful and humorous dialogue. Thanks Brandyn.
