Original TP9, TP9SFX, TP9SFT, SFX RIVAL Stainless Steel Guide Rod Assembly

These are direct drop in replacement stainless steel guide rods, captured with a new recoil spring for your original TP9, full size SFX, SFT, and SFX RIVAL. Our guide rod assembly allows use of different spring rates to tune the pistol to your needs and handloads. The flat wound recoil spring is made for us by ISMI, a leader in the spring market here in the U.S.A, to our specifications. Made on the same machines that make springs for Formula 1 and IndyCar race cars, made exclusively with aerospace specification alloys. Made from Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, the only choice for a longer lasting, more enjoyable shooting experience verses inferior Music Wire springs.

Now available with our new performance Striker Spring at a reduced price, sold separately for $14.50. Chrome Silicon Spring Wire, not music wire, is used for the highest quality performance striker spring available for the Canik pistol line. Custom made and designed by ISMI, for us, to offer Canik pistol performance in a complete spring package. These are not repackaged Glock springs that "fit". You have your choice of 3 lb or 4 lb striker spring.

*** The reduced power 4 lb is a good reduction for a lighter pull and good ignition of standard or higher quality primers.

*** The 3lb is the lightest option giving an even lighter pull but will need higher quality primer ammo, low grade bulk practice ammo will struggle with the 3lb spring and should be avoided.

Select your choice of 15 with Reduced Rate Striker Spring, 18 with Reduced Rate Striker Spring, or 20, 22, and 24 pound flat wound recoil spring with an option of adding the reduced rate striker spring. Stock rate is 19.1lb. 15 and 18 pound units require the reduced rate striker spring for proper function.

Available now in your choice of Stainless Steel or Blacked Stainless Steel Guide Rod finishes.

Fits Canik Original TP9, Full Size TP9SFX, TP9SFT, SFX RIVAL, and SFX RIVAL-S Pistols Only.

what power recoil spring do you recommend for a canik pt9 sfx shooting 9mm + p ammo

I would look at the higher rates we offer, the 22lb would be where I would start.

I have a Canik Rival-S shooting bulk 115 gr 9mm ammo. Sometime the slide doesn't return completely resulting in light primer strikes. What spring rate will fix this problem.

If the slide is holding out of battery it is probably ammo issues, oversize cases generally or weak grip can also cause it. I would swap to another ammo if your using off the shelf ammo or if it is reloads a quality ammo. Going lower in spring rate is for helping with cycling issues with lower pressure ammo and is an option. To go lower you have to reduce the striker spring rate or it will hold the slide out of a battery with the lower recoil spring rate.

I am running your recoil spring and guide rod in my Rival-S....works great with 147 gr loaded to 135 PF. I would like to replace the spring. Do you have just the flat wire springs? Are they the same as the ones on your website? thanks

I have a tp9 sfx with a suppressor that will not eject the spent brass. Will the 15lb spring be what I’m looking for ?

It may be what you need provided the suppressor has a booster spring for use in tilting actions, I suggest checking with the suppressor company to confirm that is their suggested solution.

Thank you for your awesome products! I have a couple of questions for my Canik TP9 SFX upgrades. I usually run 115 and 124 grain. The first question is what is the best spring rate on this guide rod to use with these rounds if I want the least recoil? Also, I plan on installing this guide rod assembly along with the Jefe trigger and Reduced Power Spring kit. Second question is that I wanted to add the optional 4lb Reduced Power Striker Spring to the spring kit but should I not add it on that combination and add it instead to the combination option of this guide rod set? Thank you in advance!

Bullet weight is not the big factor, pressure is. Bulk 115 gr tends to be just inside the pressure range of 9x19 so you would want to stick with the factory rate for the best recoil control or step up one rating for more control with 115 and 124 gr bulk practice ammo. Add the striker spring to the rod or springs, up to you all the same spring.
